61245 miles on this clutch, still holding power.
In 2013 Van sold me a SPEC SS trim stage 2 clutch kit for our GT500, as of today the car has more than 82k miles on it, and the clutch has 61245 miles on it....... yes you read that right over 60k miles. This car is a daily driver, with a mix of stop and go, in town and freeway miles. Only one long trip, a vacation in 2014 from TX to OR, to CA to AZ and home...other than that is just driven daily. No slipping at all at this point.. No passes on this car and it's not a HP monster, basic bolt ons to get a few extra HP and thats it.. So not a super harsh condition as it goes. Yet it does get used hard though not abused. Both my wife and I know how to drive a performance clutch..This is her daily driver.

The perfect clutch and flywheel
Posted by Darrell 07 GT 500 on January 6, 2015 This is a great clutch I have no complaints. the clutch pedal is not too hard and the aluminum flywheel works perfect with this engine. This is what Ford should have put in in the beginning.

Spec SS trim clutch, Ford OEM slave cylinder; wow, what an improvement
My stock clutch started slipping at 24k. Van recommended the Spec SS trim & OEM slave cyl. Big improvement for me. Stock flywheel was warped. Now my car is smooth again. Clutch release point is low, but is improving with break in. This clutch really grabs. Pedal is a little heavier than stock was on my car. Starter is quieter, maybe due to the new flywheel having a wider teeth track, or maybe its a few thousands difference than stock dia. It was an improvement either way. Trans was a bear to get out during install (I have headers), but result was well worth the work. This my second purchase from Van, and both transactions were very pleasant. RevanRacing customer service is second to none. If you have to replace your clutch, this is a good choice in my book. Very drivable and it can take the horsepower our cars have.

Exactly What I Was Expecting
Just added the Spec SS to my 700hp '07 GT500. The pedal feel is a little lighter, that's fine since my factory clutch was very stiff. This clutch begins to engage as soon as I lift my foot so it will take some getting used to, but that's OK too. Shifter feels a little notchy now. There is a little but of chattering at idle, but you really have to listen to hear it. Overall, it doesn't feel as nice as the factory clutch, but the factory clutch couldn't handle 700lb of torque so it's an acceptable trade-off.

Rebuild ability sold me!!!
Turned up the power on my '08 GT500 and immediately melted the stock clutch. One call to Van and I was sold on this kit. While others recommended McLeod, Spec is a rebuild able, where McLeod was not. Installation was pretty straight forward, clutch pedal is now lighter than stock. Quite impressed with the upgrade.

Great clutch so far.
Just installed yesterday and I must say, it's impressive how much smoother this clutch is than the stocker. It engages instantly, so it's taking a little bit of getting used to, but the pedal pressure is almost the same as the stock unit, but the chattering is gone. I can't really attest to the holding power as I'm still in the break-in period and have yet to mash the gas. My son misses my old "hissing" clutch because he thought it sounded cool, but this one definitely has a lot more clamping power. Glad Van directed me away from the RXT.

SSG5SST Clutch Kit and Hydraulic Throw Out Bearing/Slave cylinder
My son had a McLeod RXT clutch kit installed in his 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500. Despite the fact that he did not race or drive the car hard the clutch failed in less than eight(8) months after installation and less than 8,000 miles. I talked with Van about the problem and he suggested the SPEC SFG5SST clutch kit and a new hydraulic throw out bearing/slave cylinder assembly so that is what we ordered. The parts were received in only three (3) days after ordering and installed the following day. So far the new clutch assembly and throw out bearing are working perfectly and very smooth. It does require a little more peddle pressure but that is minor. Both my son and I are not only very pleased with the products purchased but also with the customer service provided by Revan Racing. Thanks Van! Will definitely do business again with Revan Racing in the future.

Smooth clutch, Best mod so far!!
I recently purchased this clutch from Van after talking to him on the forums about other brands and spec options. Im very happy with the purchase! It is a smooth engaging and very "tight" grab. The aluminum flywheel option is well worth it. During AutoX and open track event, Heel-Toeing is much easier and faster because of the quicker revs. The price is justified if you have a modded or planning to mod your Shelby! Vans customer service is hands down the best I have received yet. Thanks Van!!!
