Named ATAK (Acoustically-Tuned Applied Kinetics), this technology achieves the highest dB levels within Borla's street-legal offerings and caters to high-performance enthusiasts who favor exhaust sounds over their stereos. ATAK aims to amplify volume while preserving sound clarity, avoiding the distortion often associated with louder exhausts.
The sound output with ATAK is meticulously tuned, resembling a graphic equalizer, to sculpt and concentrate sound waves for optimal high-volume output. Each ATAK system's development is rooted in a thorough analysis of the vehicle's acoustical characteristics. The technology leverages custom-tuned features of the internal muffler cores, individually calibrated for each vehicle to produce the most appealing sound.
"Factors like the distance from the exhaust manifold to the rear bumper, the underbody shielding's shape, and the ground clearance all influence the sound, and they vary with each vehicle. ATAK accounts for these differences, and the outcome is astounding," states David Borla, Sales Marketing Manager. Additionally, an X-Pipe (PN 60510) can be incorporated into this system.
