BMR Upper Control Arms, DOM, On-car Adjustable, Polyurethane Bushings (2005-2010)
BMR Suspension
The single upper control arm is responsible for maintaining pinion angle and preventing axle counter-rotation. This "3 link" style suspension is ideal for autocross and road race applications as it allows the most articulation possible with a solid axle. For drag racing, however, the single, centered link becomes a weak point as the arm is only one inch thick in the middle and made from light gauge, stamped steel. Our upper control arm is made from 1 5/8" x .120 wall DOM tube and is MIG welded. We use the largest adjuster in the industry, 1-1/8", for a bulletproof combination.
New for 2011 we have incorporated an application-specific, dual-durometer bushing. This 4-piece bushing utilizes a high-durometer center bushing to resist deflection under heavy loading and two outer, low-durometer bushings to allow articulation during handling. This makes the control arm equally at home on the drag strip, street, or road course.
NOTE: It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you also use a BMR Upper Control Arm Mount with this product. The OEM Upper control arm mount is made of stamped steel and not as strong. Search product UCM002.
All BMR products I have had so far have been the best of quality.
This piece is impressive and you couldn't break it if you tried. Thick steel and a nice hard bushing. Not sure of durometer reading on these bushings but I bet 75-95 and whatever it is it's much harder than the OEM bushing. Adjustable "Jam Nuts" are huge, 40mm+, on this piece and it there is a whole lot of room after it's installed. I took a die grinder to the locking wheel on a 1.5" crescent wrench to make it open up an extra 2-3mm.
The picture does not do this piece justice when they say they use the largest adjuster in the industry it's big. The high-durometer center bushing is massive bigger than the previous brand I took off the car very nice piece. I added the bracket as well.
